1.Bachevsky – one of the most popular restaurants in Lviv. The restaurant is named in honor of the Bachevsky family, who owned a famous distillery, founded in 1782 in Lvov. The restaurant amazes with its interior – on the first floor there is a conservatory hall, on the second there are halls decorated in the style of the beginning. XX century. 2.Kryivka – a legendary Lviv restaurant, that has become a must visit place. It is located in the very heart of the city, although it is not easy to find it (it is located in one of the basements of the building). But if you find a secret door, then be prepared at the entrance to say “went out” (Russian slogan), and then drink a glass of liqueur. Going inside, you find yourself in the “kryivka” (Russian dugout) partisans of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. Here you can see machine guns, overcoats, on the walls – photos, posters, leaflets. In the evening, performances are held, live music is played, and there are military equipment in the courtyard. Popular dishes on the menu include Pravdiva Doshka and Panteleimonova Sokira, accompanied by liqueurs.

3.Meat and Justice Restaurant – the first Lviv grill restaurant, located on the territory of the fortifications of the Bernardine Monastery. This is a place where the atmosphere of the Middle Ages reigns. At the entrance, guests are greeted by the “executioner”, and inside there are all kinds of ancient instruments of torture. The establishment is especially popular with tourists. Menu – grilled meat dishes, bograch, salads and Zenyk branded live beer.

4.Galician restaurant – is known as the “Masonic Lodge”. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building where Kryivka is located. Don’t look for an indicator, as the entrance to the “lodge” is hidden behind an inconspicuous door too. Thus, you need to knock and they will open for you. Once inside, you will plunge into the atmosphere of the Masonic brotherhood with wooden furniture, large mirrors and portraits of great Masons on the walls. The menu features European cuisine. Be careful – prices in the menu are indicated with extra zeros.

5.P’yate Pidzemelliya – a medieval-style restaurant, located in the old underground of Lviv (eng. Fifth Underground). The institution has an interactive format. Here, the male waiters disguise as monks, and the waitresses represent the housewives of the Middle Ages. Visitors will be able to take a souvenir photo wearing the cassock of a monk or sitting on the royal throne. The menu features author’s cuisine with original presentation. The signature dish is meat on stakes, which is made from poultry, pork and trout.

6.Rebernia under the Arsenal – a conceptual place in the style of an old castle, popular among the citizens and guests of Lviv. It is located on the ground floor of the former city arsenal – the 16th century fortifications. The main dish on the menu is grilled ribs, served here on the board and without cutlery. Well, visitors are given special aprons so as not to get dirty. Here you can also taste grilled mackerel, assorted vegetables, and specialty beer.

7.Pstrug, Bread and Wine – a cozy two-storey restaurant, located in an old building, not far from the Arsenal Museum. The entrance is decorated with a large wall clock. The interior resembles a tavern with its wooden furniture and brick walls. The place specializes in baked trout (Ukrainian pstrug) cooked according to traditional Carpathian recipes. The menu also includes salads, soup of the day and freshly baked bread with various homemade putties. Live music is played in the evenings. In warm weather, an open terrace operates.

8.36Po – a new-fashioned restaurant occupying a five-story building in the center of Lviv. There is a beer hall, where 10 types of beer are offered, a fish hall, where exclusively fish dishes are served, as well as a hall of new Ukrainian cuisine. There is a wine and cigar room too. Each room is designed in its own style. The specialty of the establishment is a huge aquarium with sharks and exotic fish. 9.Pid Zolotoyu Rozoyu – a Jewish restaurant (eng. Under the Golden Rose), located in the center of Lviv. This is a cozy place where everything reminds of a traditional Jewish dwelling – lace tablecloths, menorahs, violins and photographs. Here, they wash each guest’s hands, treat them to matzo and tincture. The specialty of the establishment is the menu that has no prices. So, you may well bargain with the waiter when paying the bill. Specialties include stuffed carp, forshmak and hummus. Live music plays in the evenings. There is a summer terrace too.

10.Mons Pius – a beer and meat restaurant tucked away in one of the courtyards of the Armenian Quarter. It is located in the former building of a commercial bank. The original interior reproduces the atmosphere of Lviv in the 18th century. It has got massive furniture and walls decorated with portraits of bank directors. A stained glass window by Jan Henrik Rosen (1927) has been preserved in one of the rooms. The menu offers a wide selection of meat dishes and steaks. As for drinks, specialty beer is offered, which is brewed specifically for the institution at the Lviv Brewery. There is also a wine list. The summer terrace is open in warm weather.
